Rule number 1: Follow the good Doctor's advice. When drfranken says use
iNav to measure it, do so.

I too am running Mimix. Where is your backup box? Same room? (Don't
laugh other people. We were in that situation a LOT longer than I thought
we'd ever be.) You might be in the same room if the only reason you're
running Mimix is to do backups on the other machine. But if it's for HA
and in another city do you really have better than a 1GB connection
between those? And, on that connection are you really allowed access to
the full bandwidth? Often remote connections are subsetted. x% might be
voice, y% might be for this bank of servers, z% might be for that bank of
servers, etc.

We are running Mimix. We have a fairly decent connection between the two
cities running primary and secondary. We never even approach 5% busy on
the adapter. We use a dedicated lan adapter for Mimix. Our adapter is a
port on the HEA (Host Ethernet Adapter) on our Power 6 9117-MMA.
