I was thinking more along the lines of a scheduled task in Windows, that downloads files directly to the IBM I's IFS and the IBM I can look for the files in the IFS periodically. This could be an external windows server or an integrated one, doesn't matter. Not sure you would consolidate any additional servers if that windows box is already present?

Less stuff in the way. Server consolidation. No problems with the i puking when it tries to use QNTC on the windows server because someone created a share larger than 12 characters on that server. And the list goes on...

Have you thought of using one of the many free options on a windows server
to do the file transfers? Why does it have to be run on the i?
