The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I don't think I want a join LF, rather more of a UNION LF. Which the closest thing on DDL seems to be a multi-format LF.

Read up on Join Logical files. You can join physical files in that way.
I do not know if it will handle 20 files though. Still, you can join.
Keys need to be the same length, but that can be done too.
One other thought that crosses my mind is to write a simple, quick,
program that, when called, fills a table of your own design with all of
the data. Then in any program that needs these lookups, you can call
your new program in the *INZSR and fill an array in your program and as
a result have really fast response times, and whole lot less coding.

Problem is there are 20 different physical files that I would like to read as one LF.
Is this possible?
