Re: when was the last modification to a files data?

Dave,

If some changes, say, the TEXT description of the file, the last modified
date changes, although the data records by themselves haven't been modified.

If possible, I would suggest, as other have done, the use of journals. Some
time ago Rob Berendt wrote a real nice post that expressed in a very nice
and succinct way the use of journaling. If interested I can dig it for you,
as I'm sure I have it archived somewhere (it really was a nice intro, and I
wanted to show it to my coworkers)
