Based on Jerry's comment "Okay, pretty lame to use the same tape the
second time" my interpretation is yes, he did use the same tape.

I have reused tapes that have crapped out due to an error. But only after
a successful CLEAR(*YES). Normally, someone running a weekend process
doesn't want to sit around and wait two and a half hours for a CLEAR(*YES)
on their INZTAP so I would use another tape and clear the failing one for
usage later.
