No argument there. I did my first "directly to excel" project using hssf/poi
in April. The Minnesota alcohol tax filing process.

It was more exhausting extracting ERP data to populate the intermediary DB2
work file, than it was populating the worksheets from said DB2 work file. <g>

One of the problems of using .csv instead of directly to excel is how it
handles numbers in an alphanumeric field. Do you really want:
ItemCode
X67YT
AU8Y9
2

Let alone my constant battles with CPYTOIMPF fighting every release of the
OS...

Best to just write to Excel format directly.
