We're talking two different things.

You're asking if BRMS network allows the splitting up of the backup over
virtual interfaces.

I'm answering differently. :-)
I'm telling you that BRMS network is to talk to the other hosts using BRMS
and coordinate tape usage and whatnot.
I do NOT think it's to coordinate tape library usage.
We have to time the fourth lpar carefully so that it doesn't try to backup
when the 3 drives are already busy saving three other lpars. BRMS doesn't
automatically handle this timing for us.
Yes, one of the 4 lpars is a 'guest' and it is hosted by one of the
others. But it has it's own physical fiber interface to the SAN that then
goes to the tape library. No virtual tape (at least in that sense).
