Just to clarify, it cannot be reinitialized. INZTAP will not work on it.
Resale value is nil. Which, since it takes me over 2 hours to do a
clear(*yes) and I'm getting $5/tape on the used market, may make since for you. We do it for green reasons and some change and our BOFH has some time on her hands. (and to save buying the magnet)

Correct. The servo tracks (between the data tracks and used to keep the
heads aligned with the data) will also be erased and thus the tape is
toast for good.
