I can certainly believe the media will maintain its integrity sitting
on a shelf for 109 days. But I find it hard to believe that any media
that purports to be for "archival purposes" is only meant to last that
long. Especially if it says it will last 20,000 load/unload cycles.
What exactly is a "load/unload cycle"? Putting the cartridge into the
drive and taking it back out? You would need to do this over 183
times a day for the cartridge to wear out before the "archive storage"
period runs out. On the other hand, if a cartridge only needs to
survive two load/unload cycles per day, including weekends, the
cartridge should last over 27 years.
