There is a number of us who have changed our system value to 37 midday
with no ill effects. You can search the archives for Chuck Pence's
concern about doing so and balance that against the rest of us. Gotta
respect Chuck so take a look.

I don't suppose the PC based tool had a requirement to load IBM i Access
for Windows on the PC so they can use that ODBC driver, did they? If so,
there's something in there to help. If no, then mention the name of the
PC based tool to open the possibility of someone else who have have
already used that tool to give you the blow-by-blow on how to resolve it.
Unless, of course, you are beta testing vaporware and your nondisclosure
forbids that.
You could also try asking the tool vendor. Hopefully they have made sales
to IBM i's in the past and have built up a knowledge base. A search of
their website for CCSID may be productive.
