I ignored the original thread, but the above sounds like a timeout for the UDF might be an issue? I am not clear on an error vs the NULL value, except possibly use of NULL for a monitor of any SQL EXCEPTION condition.? Anyhow, there is a .ini [QAQQINI] feature to increase the time-out limit setting for processing of User Defined Functions.
