Do they ever print off from Iseries Spooler? Probably not. Do they ever print from an email? Yes.

If I write to stream files, does that support AFPDS printer file commands? Lines, fonts, boxes, bar codes, etc?

Can users & pgmrs view spool files with WRKSPLF?

Is this method widely used in Iseries shops?

Currently pgmrs use job scheduler to diagnose problems, and part is viewing spool files for a specific job. Isnt this too radical in general for reports? Or is it in common usage?

Do they EVER print it off? If not then stop generating the spool files.
Instead write directly to stream files (aka something outside of the
/qsys.lib file system). Again, once you do it you'll be doing it a lot -
it's not something you'll do once and throw away the knowledge and effort.
The formatting will be easier to control without concerns about page
overflow and all that jazz. Then it's quite easy to slap all three
attachments onto one email with your emailer of choice.
