Yeah, I had expected to see the expiring in x-days messages too but there
are none in our history log on that box. Not sure why not though...

I would agree with Chris, you likely had keys with an expiration date for
some reason. You can't simply change the dates on a key because the date is
part of the key that you entered.
If you look in QHST for the past 70 days have you been getting any messages
indicating the keys would expire in x number of days? Usually they pop in
every hour for anything that is both in use and within the
70 days till expiration.
