I have a file with a record capacity of 3,500,000 records in which only 233
are actually used. On a S/34/36 disk data management actually had to carve
out space to hold all 3.5M records; i.e., the space was pre-allocated and
couldn't be used by anything else.
Is this the case on the System i? Would chopping down the record capacity
to, say, 1K records be advisable or irrelevant as far as disk space usage is
concerned?
