as long as the file attribute Allocate Storage is not *YES (and *NO is default)
no problem.
Your dspobjd or wrkobj will show you the file size in bytes.
There is a minimum size for every file - it has to keep info on file you don't see.

are actually used. On a S/34/36 disk data management actually had to carve
out space to hold all 3.5M records; i.e., the space was pre-allocated and

Is this the case on the System i? Would chopping down the record capacity
to, say, 1K records be advisable or irrelevant as far as disk space usage is
concerned?
