Unfortunately there was an issue with REXX and SQL after V6R1 in certain
conditions. We created a dossier with IBM (LPAR?) over this but it could
not be fixed and so we changed our EXECSQL tool from using REXX to RPG.
This issue is in the archives, somewhere.

Just curious if there was a better way of doing SQL
in CL. It is a nightmare trying to get all the quotes,

Nothing to do with the DOCSQL command, it is the
CL parser that is so cumbersome.

This is going to sound crazy, but have you thought about using REXX?
When it comes to string-handling, it is tough to beat. And its
integration with CL is unparalleled. REXX is underused and
underappreciated (mainly due to being underexposed, I think). It's
just about perfect for this task.
