At my previous employer, we had two machines: Production and Development.
It was pretty easy to write my own commands to port libraries and save files
between the systems. It was just a matter of going through the process
manually and then writing the pieces for both sides.

Jack,

Gui's are nice but please reconsider this for performance reasons. Most
people may have their i on a faster backbone than their client PC's. So
instead of going from one system to another you are now going from one
system, through your client, then to the other system. My PC is configured
for 100Mbps. My i's are all on GB lines.

Other considerations:
- if the transfer is long and you want to pack up your laptop and go home,
you're now stuck
- more possibilities for the comm to drop and need to start over
- why not just schedule the transfers to take place in batch
- Do the transfer off hours and not burden your network.

But if you just GOT to do this then I'm rather fond of FileZilla. I've not
tried to go system to system but probably a mapped drive and a system would
work.

Anyone know of nice FTP GUI that can accomplish this. I am considering
using netserver and then mapping drives. looking for other alternatives.
