Tom -

I always first run a SELECT statement in order to review the records that will be getting updated. After I review the result of the query, I then change it to an UPDATE statement.

FIrst:

SELECT *from trans
where not exists (select * from master where mcono=tcono and mcust=tcust and
mtickn=ttickn and mdate=tdate)

Then:

Update trans a set tsts = 'O'
where not exists (select * from master where mcono=tcono and mcust=tcust and
mtickn=ttickn and mdate=tdate)
