Wow, that's odd. I've been working on the AS/400 (iSeries) since 1989 and
I'm not sure I've ever noticed or payed attention to that before.
Or, maybe I did and I just forgot about it... Lol

Thanks!

*GROUP is transitional. It only shows that way for the user who ran the
display object authority. Try running it as someone who is not a member
of those two groups and see the difference. For example, I am a member of
the group PROGRAMMER. I have no supplemental groups. I do CRTPF
ROB/DELETEX RCDLEN(15). Then I do a DSPOBJAUT on it and I see:
Owner . . . . . . . : PROGRAMMER

Object
User Group Authority
*PUBLIC *CHANGE
*GROUP PROGRAMMER *ALL

Now I do CRTUSRPRF DUMMY. I sign on as that and I do DSPOBJAUT and I only
see:
Object . . . . . . . : DELETEX Owner . . . . . . . : PROGRAMMER
Library . . . . . : ROB Primary group . . . : *NONE
Object
User Group Authority
*PUBLIC *CHANGE

Notice the *GROUP is not there?

Subject: Group profiles not showing on Obj Auth
Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx

I recently setup a new group profile and assigned a developer to this
account and I'm now trying to assign the group authority to specific
objects but it doesn't appear that the profile is being recognized as a
group profile. The Display Object authority shows the following:

Object
User Group Authority
*PUBLIC *USE
*GROUP USERGRP1 *ALL
*GROUP USERGRP2 *USE
NEWGROUP *ALL

The NEWGROUP shows up under the DSPAUTUSR list with the developer's user
profile in it, and No Password is indicated. But, I'm just curious why
DSPOBJAUT does not show it as a "*GROUP".

BTW: I'm running on V5R4 if it makes a difference.
