I hate twinax.

Could be any number of things.  Let me throw in a few other items.
- Twinax cable pins may look ok when detached but get pushed in when in
use.
- You are trying to attach the twinax directly to a terminal that requires
a "T" connector with automatic terminator.
- You may have a terminal in which you manually have to throw a dip switch
for terminator, or use a terminator plug.

Since you got a system to play with, why not take this opportunity to
learn how to use either Operations Console or Lan Console?  Hey, this will
allow you to copy/paste screens into your PC's email even when the system
is in a restricted state.  And other functions you can't do with twinax.

And if it has more than one twinax card (don't know if the 520 can) that
the twinax brick is on the first twinax connection.

Sounds like you have an address that is something other than port 0 on
"brick" 0 (if more than one).  Bet the terminal is set to something
other than port 0.

Check that:

What kind of terminal are you using ?
