Jack,
Here is a sample control group that will do what you asked:
Group . . . . . . . . . . : MYTEST
Default activity . . . . . *BKUPCY
Text . . . . . . . . . . . *NONE
Type information, press Enter.
Weekly Retain Save SWA
Backup List ASP Activity Object While Message Sync
Seq Items Type Device SMTWTFS Detail Active Queue ID
10 *SAVCFG *DFTACT *NO
20 *SAVSECDTA *DFTACT *NO
30 QGPL *SYSBAS *DFTACT *ERR *NO
40 *LOAD *DFTACT
The last statement will cause BRMS to load a new volume. I rarely see
this in BRMS but it is used, usually to cause a duplicate tape to be
created.
As to the media management. Assuming you have all the tapes loaded into
BRMS when you put a tape into the library, the category will start out
as *INSERTED. Change the category to *SHARE400 and your good to go.

I am looking to create a simple control group to test against eachnight to
gain a better understanding of the software, then submit with thewould
scheduler. Does anyone have a simple example of a control group that
savcfg, savsecdata, then backup QGPL library. ONce I write thisnew
information to the tape volume will I need to do a demount, then add a
volume *SHARE400?? Or can the tape mount, init, write, unload, mountnext
tape be automated within BRMS.--
