I'm not 100% sure what that is. I'm not used to SQL Server as much as I am to DB2, so I'm not familiar with some of those features.

My project is to sync some core data files from the iSeries to a SQL Server on a remote plant of ours. Then, programs at that location run against the SQL Server, which syncs data back to our iSeries periodically. If connection to our iSeries is lost, the SQL Server happily keeps chugging along until it gets connectivity again, at which point it syncs.

That's the plan as it stands currently, but I need a proof-of-concept to show that it can work like that. I'm working under the premise that what I need is to set up a linked server in SQL Server in order to selectively sync those files to/from the iSeries. Am I making this more difficult than I need to? Do I not need the linked server feature at all?
