One would assume it's a PGP encrypted file. You'll need to coordinate
with the sender to get the public key needed to unencrypt it.
I didn't have much luck with the ports of PGP to run on the IBM-i, so I
use WS_FTP from Ipswitch and just map a drive to the IFS.

Subject: iSeries IFS .PGP files and working with these
Hello everyone - Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ...
We receive an acknowledgment file from one of the banks.
The IFS file extension is a ".PGP type"
That is what the Bank gives me and I cannot change that.
Say the file is : myacknowlegmentfile2011228.pgp
I can go to the WRKLNK and use the DSPF over the IFS stream file with type
.PGP (no problem)
I can perfectly rename the file wanting to manage this resource as a .TXT
file
Here is the problem. I have not been able to manage this resource in order
to export the file to a database file
Has anyone been able to resolve something like this
Thanks for your recommendations
