I think there are other factors. If one use Host Print Transform and the other doesn't, there could be large differences, and that also depends on just what is being transformed.

I don't really know what the difference is as to code path in the system - one goes through an LPR thing - line-print-request, I think - the other through print device support - both use a writer job.

The main differences have to do with just WHAT each can do - the *DEVD has full support for multiple copies and page range and all that - remote outqs don't have a lot of that stuff.

I suspect that the system sending postscript data is not converting it - so it'd be faster.

Maybe you can send us the full setup for both items, to compare all the parameters.
