We are currently utilizing the standard FTP on the i to communicate with
Sterling Commerce. We had to write our own scripts to bring in the files
and transfer in and out of our old bisync data files. If you van requires
FTP/s or another connectivity method you may require the use of Cleo's
Lexicom. It is a great product that works on the i and there support is
good. Depending on your OS version on your i, you might be able to use the
built in FTP/s, but never tried.

Ron,

We're using Extol for EDI, but that's not necessarily germane to the
discussion. I use FTP to both transmit and receive data from our
trading partners. The scripting necessary for the activity is built
into the product.
