You would use the GO SAVE option 22 to save all the IBM stuff (not customer stuff), and then you can bring that tape to the new machine and restore the LIC, the OS. Then you could use the go restore option 22 to restore the security, config, IBM libraries, and IBM IFS directories. But you wouldn't have any user data.

I didn't get into lots of detail, just answered your question.
