Starting with 6.1 the Performance Tools LPP has a new option, called Job
Watcher (option 3); it is a chargeable option.

The commands to collect job watcher data (ADD/RMVJWDFN, STRJW, ENDJW) are
included with the operating system in 6.1 and later.
The PT1 job watcher option is for the graphical user interface - to collect
and more importantly, analyze, job watcher data.

Thank you Dawn.
Is the Job Watcher a chargeable option or included with PT1?

Hi Rob,

Do you have the Job Watcher feature of the IBM Performance Tools
Licensed
Program Product installed?

If not, you will be able to see job watcher collections through the
collection manager ("Collectors"), but you will not be able to do
anything
with them.

I'm guessing that you have the IBM Performance Tools LPP base option
installed because you can expand Disk Watcher.

(The Performance Tools LPP is NOT required to work with Collection
Services
data).

From the 7.1 Information Center (this applies to 6.1 as well) -
[4]
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v7r1m0/topic/rzahx/rzahxwebnavover.htm

You may need to install some or all of the following, depending upon
the
level of function that you need:
o Performance Tools for i (5761PT1) Option 1 - Manager Feature - for
Performance Explorer content package and IBM i Disk Watcher
function.
o Performance Tools for i (5761PT1) Option 3 - for IBM i Job Watcher
function.

I tried:

IBM Systems Director Navigator for i
IBM i Management
Performance
Show All Performance Tasks
Performance
Collectors
Job Watcher

Now, Job Watcher does not have an "expander" like Disk Watcher or
Collections Services. And, when I click on Job Watcher, nothing
happens.
What gives?
