If that attention light is on the managed system or an LPAR it most likely means that a device did not vary on properly somewhere. Ever since the Power5 boxes came out that yellow light goes on when the wind blows or the world turns. It's almost useless now. For some reason we can't get the folks in Austin to understand just because you can turn on the yellow light, you should.......

Since you have checked all of the appropriate things you can simply turn it off on the HMC.

Brought up the HMC web interface for the first time today. It tells me
we have an Attention LED. (An orange triangle with an ! mark)

The status of the machine is “! Running” and the reference code is 00000000.

If I go to Service Management, then Manage Serviceable Events, there are
no open events. (There is one closed event, closed back in early 2010.)

So what is it telling me?

The attention light on the physical operator panel is off. It may have
come on today when we did a light test while playing with the tiny,
recessed operator panel.

Single partition Power 6. HMC is verson 7, Rel 3.4.0, service pack 1
