Hope this doesn't get lost in the translation but there's "Alternate IPL
devices" and then there's "Alternate installation devices". I believe
that all tape drives qualify as "Alternates installation devices" but not
all qualify for "Alternate IPL devices". If your tape drive is an
"Alternate Installation Device" but is not an "Alternate IPL device" then
you will need to IPL from CD and then perform your installation from tape.
