Hi John

If you put an authorization list on the library ( CHGLIB LIB(ProdLib) AUTL(MyAutl) ) you can set public and private authorities on the authorization list and every new object created in that library will automatically receive the authority of the AUTL.

I have to say I misunderstood this on my first reading. I gathered
from what you wrote that the authority as set in the authority list
would be applied to the object when it was created. This seemed a bit
useless in terms of using an authority list in the first place so I
ran a test to see what would happen.

I see that the result is that the object was created with the *PUBLIC
being granted Object Authority *AUTL which makes a lot more sense.

It sure would be nice if there was something like the QDFTJRN Data
area to apply authority lists to objects when restoring them.
