As part of a different project we've developed an iSeries syslog agent
that can read logs like QAUDJRN and format and deliver messages to a
backend syslog server. It's fully featured (RFC5424) and robust (got a
lot more than the commercial packages out there) and it's FREE. It can
operate in real time or as a scheduled process and has loads of filters
and options for prioritizing and customizing messages.

It was written by a couple of seasoned iSeries coders that are just
getting back into the iSeries space and they're throwing this out there
for anyone that could use it. As I said it's free - but we would
appreciate a little feedback. Send me an email if you'd like a copy and
I'll tell you where you can download it.
