Use the command ENDJOB JOB(nbr/user/name) SPLFILE(*YES).
This will delete all spool files for the job even if it has completed.

It's not one JOB producing thousands of spool files; it's thousands of identically NAMED jobs, each running for no more than a few seconds, and producing one spool file each.

It's an intermediate verification stage in a child-server spawn-off. Something (we're not sure what) is establishing connections to the port, at one-minute intervals, then disconnecting without completing the protocol handshake, causing the program to spool out a single diagnostic, and terminate.

Twice every minute. Since about a week ago. And somehow, nobody noticed the malfunction until today. And we still don't know *what* is contacting the server.
