No redistributable package that I know of...

You'd have to give them the CD/DVD for System i Access....

The expectation is that your app would be used to connect to the
customer's own box, thus they'd already have the CD/DVD.

In your case, JDBC would be a better option, as that would be easily
redistributable.

Though the though of allowing any external customer direct access to
my box with either JDBC or ODBC is a bit scary...why not a web front
end?

Yeah, I know.  But I don't want to tell my boss we can do something only to
find out we later we weren't allowed.

I believe you'd have to have your client install IBM's System i Access
for Windows...note the ODBC driver doesn't require a paid for license
to System i Access.

Is there a redistributable package or something similar to install the
necessary ODBC components?  Or do we have to provide them with a CD/DVD for
System i Access?

But redistributing the JDBC driver in the form of the jtopen project
shouldn't be an issue...

ODBC is another story....

What are the restrictions of redistributing the files necessary for
creating
a data connection to the IBM i?  I am having a hard time finding the
terms
in the documentation.
