If a commercial product is an option, take a look at our RPG2SQL Integrator product - and if you are 6.1 or above, I have an open access for RPG handler for it that lets you work with remote data using native RPG opcodes.

Contact me directly, call 888.RJS.SOFT toll-free and ask for Vern, or email me here. You can also look at our site at http://www.rjssoftware.com/Products/Catalog/RPG2SQL-Integrator/
