You are in luck due to a recent event here we had to lock down our SMTP...
thanks to chinese spammers using us as an open relay....our wonderful
firewall guy did lock everything down for us on the network (which is the
proper way). So while we should never have seen this.... we are now
double protected.... here are a few sources I found during the ensuing
resolution....

Subject
SMTP open relay

We recently had an internal SVA(Security Vulnerability Accessment). I
couple of things were picked up on and I have resolved them except for
1.

Apparently SMTP Open relay was picked up and I was pointed to this site
http://www.mail-abuse.com/an_sec3rdparty.html

This site does have information related to AS400 but only goes as far as
V4R4

Does anyone know where I can find more current information about this or
how to remedy this issue? I am on V6R1.

Thanks

Mike
