Subject: B6000901 on V6R1M1 OS Upgrade from V5R4M5

Just got bit on an OS Upgrade to V6R1M1. The base upgrade went without
error
but the CUME PTF applied ended wityh a B6000901 LimkLoader error.
Thus CUME is supposed to applied a req-req MF51225 and then ask you to
contimue with the process, It did not. In talking with IBM there as been
several of these this weekend. This is with the Current C1101610 CUME which
I downloaded from Fix Central on Thursday 6/2.

Recovery was to SLIP LIC
After the slip of LIC is complete,
These are the commands to unmark the PTF's from apply at IPL:
*APYPTF LICPGM(*ALL) SELECT(*ALL) APY(*TEMP) DELAYED(*YES) IPLAPY(*NO)*
*APYPTF LICPGM(*ALL) SELECT(*ALL) APY(*PERM) DELAYED(*YES) IPLAPY(*NO)*
Then
LODPTF LICPGM(5761999) DEV(OPTVRTXX) SELECT(MF51225)
You'll probably get a message about the superceeded PTF's but this PTF
should load. Mark it to be applied delayed:
APYPTF LICPGM(5761999) RLS(*ONLY) SELECT(MF51225) APY(*TEMP) DELAYED(*YES)
IPLAPY(*YES) <-----It says *temp but it will perm apply on the IPL. IPL the
system.
After the IPL, Check that MF51225 is *perm applied

Then do the GO PTF option 8 (N on the IPL) and go though the cume again to
get remaining LIC PTF's loaded. This should be quick, the OS and LPP PTF's
are already loaded. If there are no errors, GO LICPGM option 50, IPL.

My suggestion right now would be to load/apply MF51225 *perm before this
CUME manually since it appears the automagic handling seems to be buggy.
