Greetings!!! Creating WebSphere servers are very easy to do on IBM i using
the IBM Web Administration GUI interface. From your browser,
http://hostname:2001/HTTPAdmin and sign in. This is the graphical user
interface for creating and managing all your Web interfaces on IBM i.
Within here, click on the 'Create Application Server' wizard. This will
walk you through a couple of easy steps to create a new WAS server
instance. You can also deploy and manage the applications from this
interface.
FYI, in the past you were required to have *ALLOBJ special authority to use
this interface, this requirement has been removed!! A user/developer can
now be granted permission and can now make use of this IBM i integrated
solution. For details on this new support --
