The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

Just to bring it back 'round to our system of choice... You can still
do that in MI. Basically (AFAIK) any non-blank is acceptable in a
name.
Dunno about "any non-blank" in MI, but I do know that MI variable names
starting with a period are NOT visible to the debugger (and that's well
documented).
And I also know that ILE RPG seems perfectly happy with @ and $, and
probably # as well, and that you can certainly use them in DDS field names.
