Huh? JDBC is a standard for implementing database drivers in Java.
Are you asking if there's way to use an SQL statement (presumably run
via IBM's DB2 for i JDBC driver) to get the object text of a physical
file object?
If so:
Select LABEL from systables
where NAME='MYFILE' and DBNAME='MYLIBRARY'
This would work from any SQL interface, and that includes IBM's DB2 for
i JDBC driver.
You could also call a CL program as a stored procedure or UDF and have
the CL program get the object text and return it. This would allow any
object type (not just *FILE).

Is the object-text on a file visible through JDBC?
