John,
Can we step back a from the problem a second? What exactly is it you
are trying to accomplish? Modify a program for production to
automatically monitor for a message and take some action?
Gary

Chuck,
Heh heh heh... "..give no joy.'
True that. My information is sketchy but afaik the joblog is gone.
I have the jobname/user/jobnumber and I haven't been able to find
It using wrkusrjob or wrksplf or dspjoblog.
"No longer on the stack..." well the CL that called the 3rd party
api is what got the message, so we're assuming it's available to it.
All I got was a screenshot of dspjoblog from a co-worker -
Not able to allocate objects needed for file EDDALT in library LIBNAME
member or program device MBRNAM.
Error message CPF4128 appeared during OPEN for file EDDALT.
Function check... Yadda.
Error message CPF4128 appeared during OPEN for file EDDALT (C S D F).
Thanks,
John

<<SNIP>> Though more likely, I believe that as I had suggested
previously, the spooled joblog to show the "To program" information
would best be reviewed to determine how the message might best be
retrieved.
FWiW the "suggested previously" was from a different thread "Trap
CPF4128 message via ...":

Again, perhaps the joblog from a job that experienced the originally
described problem with the CPF4128 could be provided.? Very probably the
attempt to use CPF1002 from ALCOBJ to model what will need to be
effected for the CPF4128 issue will give no joy. A quick test showed the
CPF4128 was being sent to a program message queue that no longer on the
stack and thus would not be available to "normal" RCVMSG requests unless
the "3rd party software" is sending that message to your program.
Regards, Chuck
