All,
In the IBM i 7.1 install guide, page 59, it has some precautions for those
of us who use Ops Con LAN. Among them is the following paragraph:
"When you receive the IBM i release upgrade, the shipped service tools user
IDs
(except 11111111) are expired. For all upgrades and installations, you need
to
establish a connection between the system and Operations Console PC by
using
11111111 (eight 1's) for both the service tools user ID and the default
password.
This ensures a successful authentication of the subsequent connection of
the
client to the system. This is especially important for automatic
installations."
Am I understanding this correctly, that when I start the automatic install
(over V6R1) that I _must_ be signed on the console via service tools user
11111111 or I will have problems? It sure sounds like it to me.
