That there is an IOP OK. The FC #2844 is the IOP. As long as you are
not changing hardware you'll be fine.
The drive you have being a SCSI attached one is unsupported on POWER 7.

Not being a big hardware guy, I wasn't sure. I have a Power 5 520.
My keen eye detected the following in WRKHDWRSC:
CMB06 2844-001 Operational Combined function IOP
DC04 5702-001 Operational Storage Controller
TAPMLB01 3581-028 Operational Tape Library
The magic character string "IOP" in there is a dead giveaway, isn't it?
