Is the firmware such that you cannot just go straight to 7.3.5 sp3? I just installed that at a client and it when really well. Solved the same problem I think you are trying to avoid.

message. PMR said the workaround was to reboot the HMC once a month or
so, or, to upgrade to SP2. I didn't know there was a SP3 out and
wondering why they didn't say go to that.
