WRKOPTVOL can't seem to find anything on the CD. I tried changing the
extension of the file on disk to .iso and burned another CD (decided not to
waste 10 CDs this time). Still nothing in WRKOPTVOL and the same directory
structure that I described below shows up in Windows Explorer for the .iso
version.

if you load these up on the server can you do a wrkoptvol against them. Did
you copy and paste them with roxio. I am not sure if that is a supported
route if you did.

Background:

I got the images for the last V5R1 CUME and used Roxio Creator to burn
them
to CD's since 5.1 cannot use image catalogues.

But the burn did not create a disk with the same image. For example, the
image is c4300510_10.bgin but the CD the burn created a file named
QDSETMAP
and three folders (QPTFMNT, QTAPHDR, and QTAPTRL) These folders have
sub-folders that look like OS features, such as P5722SS1 and files, such
as
PH00022.AS0.

I ran the CPYPTFCVR command against all ten CDs. Obediently I inserted a
new CD as prompted. After the 10th (last) CD I got the same message but,
since there were no additional CDs, I simply canceled. , but the error
message CPF35E0 appeared (Error occurred copying PTFs.). Previous to that
was CPF354C (Cannot process PTF files on optical volume.). Previous to
that
was CPF4110 (Cancel reply received for message OPT1486.).

I tried running the DSPPTFCVR command, anyway, for *SPCINST to *PRINT.
for
both *NOTAPY and *ALL. Nothing was selected. Even DSPPTFCVR SELECT(*ALL)
CVRATR(*ALL) OUTPUT(*PRINT) came up empty (No PTFs met selection
criteria.).
There are records in the QAPZCOVER file in QGPL (I can see them running
DSPPFM QGPL/QAPZCOVER) and DSPOBJD shows a last used date of 7 March 2011
(today).

Question:

It has been awhile, but I used to burn the download files to CD (using an
older version of Roxio, as I recall) before image catalogues came out in
V5R3. I have a vague (and I mean very vague) recollection (now) that I
changed the extension from .bin to .iso before doing the burn back then.
Did I just waste ten [10] CDs, or is there something else going on here?

Thanks.
