FYI:
I changed the print program to chop up the Fed EX ZPL II file FTPd from the
FedEx server and put it to an outq as a test.
I stripped out the socket stuff directly to the Zebra printer and printed to
the outq.
Time went from 19-20 seconds to 1 to 2 seconds to print.
Only problem is some Carriers need 2 labels and the Zebra 105SL used as a
remote outq doesn't handle it.
I just looped back through the code if 2 were required just like I did with
the socket stuff.
It went much faster by slowing the throughput buffer. Who would a thunk it?
(It's going into production Monday)
Thanks again everyone who replied,
Craig

I called Zebra and we either have to ship them to Zebra for a memory
upgrade or buy new ones.
Management is considering it now, but I'm thinking we will get new
ones with faster throughput as we are starting to ship more stuff every
week.
I'd highly recommend replacing those printers. It's amazing how much faster
newer printers can be compared to those older ones. It's printing at around
2-3 inches per second and newer ones can hit 12 ips.
That combined with higher speed command processors can produce almost
instant labels.
