I've also heard that SAP implementation on iSeries takes about 1/3 the time
of doing it on unix or windoze...

SAP applications have been running on IBM i (os/400, i5) since 1996.
i is the no-brainer choice for current i users that are going from legacy
apps to SAP
because all of the value proposition for i holds true. SAP can quickly
grow to
multiple components - i runs them in subsystems, other platforms need a
host for each.
