I am being asked to prepare a short document on how to 'rename' user
id's to adhere to new standards. I believe I thought of everything.
Anything I'm missing?

1) Wrkusrprf the user you are going to 'change or rename'.

2) Option 3 to copy (and create) a new user. Change appropriate
fields such as password, text, outq, or any other options as needed.

3) Option 12 to display any objects the old profile owns and put a
'9' in front of any objects to change their ownership to the new
profile.

4) Check for usage of the old user id in any job schedule entries.
Change as needed.

5) Check for usage of the old user id in any scripts or programs.
Change as needed.

I renumbered the above quoted steps [there were two 2s]. Change the new step 3) to add a directory entry for the new user; similar to the old user, if one exists; handles *FLR & *DLO ownership in a new\later step. Add step 6), where instead of option-12 [in the old "3)" above] which only shows /QSYS.LIB objects, in this step issue the CL request to DLTUSRPRF OldUsrName OWNOBJOPT(*CHGOWN NewUsrName) Note: primary group authorities could be an issue preventing change; resolve as necessary.
