Searching the more generic symptom keywords msgMCH1210 and
T/QSQREXX finds an old\similar [but improbable match, per
failing instruction number] SE20177 at v5r4 and another [but
without any noted failing instruction number to infer
similarity] SE37756 at v6r1. Note: The symptoms appear as
add-on versus actually associated with the APAR SE37756, and
are found in a PTF cover letter versus the APAR text, so it
may be that the PTF is corrective for the symptom, but as a
side-effect of a change included since [although possibly
before] that PTF SI35319:

Thanks, that looks very suspiciously like our problem : Problem occurs on long running embedded SQL program (!) I'd like to have been able to talk to the person who opened the APAR.
From the job log, I was able to detect 4891 sql deletes from 6 different files. I ran the job again, and counted 4888 deletes on the same files before it crashed again.

I've called IBM and the problem has already been referred to Rochester.
