Honestly, it is too late at this point...there's a reason one of the
"Prepare for Install" steps says to collect performance data...

You should have performance metrics from your old system already, then
it'd be easy to pull the same metrics from the new and show the
improvement.

Actually, you might have the data out there already, IBM provides a
service "Performance Management for power systems"
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/support/perfmgmt/index.html which
should have been configured to send data from your box to IBM. While
most the resulting reports cost $$$, there are some basic ones IBM
provides for free.

Moving forward, consider looking at performance on an ongoing basis.
Either via IBM's reports or a third party. MPG provides a nice tool,
http://www.mpginc.com/ that you can try for free. Additionally, even
if you don't buy it, there's a freeware component you can continue to
use or you could write your own queries over the data it collects.

Charles

We've just installed a new 720 box and I am looking for a way to demonstrate the performance difference between it and our old 525.  Can anyone suggest a simple method to evaluate the performance difference without worrying too much about the difference in load etc.  I don't need anything too elaborate, just a method that might give me some practical measure of the difference in horsepower.
