Hmmm.. I posted this on the rpg400 list, I'm not sure what it's doing in the midrange list.?
Anyway, got some great answers there I'm experimenting with.

I'm a bit rusty on the RPG 5250 side (perhaps this should be on the RPG
list?), but wouldn't this be addressed with a on error condition on the WS
read?

You could try submitting a DCR that IBM not allow a window to close if
it's signed on. I'm pretty sure that I've seen some windows programs halt
you if the application wasn't ready.
