definitely use the ethernet connect (10/100).
This is the IBM Knowledge Base page for Zebra Printers -
recommends a snmp definition (which is fine over ethernet).
Suggest you read this page.
(my biggest problems swapping old zebra to new is if
programs don't set the margins and the old printer has a
diff margin than new) (btw - i've not used the s4m..)

Subject: Zebra Printers
Greetings,printer with a Zebra
We are looking to replace our twinax attached label
S4M. I have spent some time combing the archives andalthough I could
not find anything specifically related to the S4M, I did find someconnectivity, ease of
interesting threads.
Does anyone have any experiences with the S4M on
use, programming.... From what I have seen in thearchives, seems that
the ZebraNet 10/100 print server is the recommendintegration method and
that ZPL language is fairly easy to pick up - any thoughts?programs to
We are using a 520 box (v6r1) and some really old COBOL
create our labels. If anyone has any thoughts(pros/cons) for another
alternative, it would be greatly appreciated.(MIDRANGE-L) mailing
Thank you
